1998 Subaru Impreza 22B

In 1998 Subaru in Japan produced a wider body WRX STi and called it the 22B. This was done to commemorate 40 years of Subaru and winning the FIA World Rally Championship and consecutive manufacturer's title for the third time.

I often photograph cars for Richard at ACL. When He told me about a mint Subaru Impreza 22B that's coming up for me to photograph I noticed an extra glint in his eyes. As with any classic cars good ones are hard to find, and with around 400 produced it gets even harder. To find a low mileage one, well you would say that's not possible for a car that is now over 20 years old.

On arrival at ACL it didn't take me to long to figure out why he was so pleased. The car looked immaculate, like it had never been driven. I wasn't far off when admiring the interior I glanced at the speedo which read 270 miles, the penny then dropped! Maybe making this the lowest mileage 22B left. Due to its rarity its a little out of my pocket, but if you have a spare £295,000 then contact Richard.

Subaru made the 22B 80 mm wider with flared arches and bigger wheels gives it a unique and beefy look.
A little damp on the 22B photoshoot, thankfully ACL has a lovely indoor location.
270 miles from new.
It produces around 280 bhp from its turbo charged flat-4 2.2L forged engine.
The 22Bs were given a unique colour of blue back then.

The car still retains many, if not all of the original factory stickers and set coverings.

A unique adjustable rear wing for the 22B.

Many thanks to Richard at www.appreciating-classics.com. Keep finding these great cars.
